The bane of every restaurateur’s life these days is no-shows. We regularly see stories in the trade press about venues missing out on 100 or more covers in a day, often amounting to thousands of pounds in lost revenue.
We can’t prevent this from happening but we can make it less likely with some recent additions to our booking module.
You can now set your system up to automatically send a reminder out to customers in advance of their booking. Just decide how many hours ahead of the booking you want to send it. At the moment this is email only, we’ll be adding an SMS option in the near future (this will be chargeable).
Emails sent to your customers now contain a cancellation link, so that if they realise they can no longer make the booking customers can quickly and easily let you know by clicking on the link.
If you have an online payment account with PaymentSense you can now configure your online bookings to take a deposit. Choose the number of covers to trigger a deposit requirement, and either set an amount per cover, a fixed amount or both.
